This workshop to help dancers to understand and become more confident dancing to accordion baladi improvisational solos!
Elias Lammam is a master musician and instructor. He is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and composer with extensive training in both Classical Arabic and Western music.
He performs and teaches weekly classes and private music lessons in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Workshop Overview:
1. Learn the history of improvisational baladi;
2. Gain insight into the musical and rhythmic structure of the accordion baladi;
3. Learn how the dancer relates to the music and the rhythms in this improvisational performance; and,
4. Dance to Elias’ music as he plays an improvisational accordion baladi.
